My professional journey began at Caci Clinic, where I discovered my passion for skincare. Over the years, I refined my skills as a skin therapist in medical spas across New Zealand, Australia, and Asia. This path eventually led me to the Middle East, where I became a DHA (Dubai Health Board ) Certified Skin and Laser Specialist at Medical Spas in Wafi City and Jumeirah Beach. Working there allowed me to collaborate with clients from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique challenges and learning experiences. With CIDESCO and CIBTAC certifications, along with teaching credentials, I have successfully addressed a wide range of skin concerns for clients around the globe. My journey has been a blend of expertise and passion, allowing me to offer tailored solutions for various skin concerns. My Specialisations I specialised in results-driven treatments, including: Laser Hair Removal I.P.L. (Intense Pulse Light) Photo Rejuvenation Dermamelan Medical Depigmentation Method Omnilux LED Light Therapy Acne Scar Treatment Skin Needling - Microneedling Sonophoresis Hydradermabrasion and Microdermabrasion Medi-Facials and Medi-Peels Transition to Teaching Upon returning to New Zealand, I transitioned into academia, where I found a new opportunity to develop NZQA course criteria and teach others about skincare. This role allowed me to share my knowledge and passion for skin health with aspiring professionals, helping them to build a strong foundation in the beauty industry. Creating My Own Business While Working Full Time This extensive experience led me to create my unique brand of skincare and business, Wild Alchemy Botanicals. Drawing on years of expertise and a commitment to skin health, my products are formulated to cater to various skin types and concerns. Thank you for visiting, and happy shopping! Nga mihi, Sandra Embracing Nature's Healing: A Childhood Journey When I was around six or seven years old, winter posed a significant challenge for me. During this season, the cold and damp weather exacerbated my occasional eczema flare-ups into a more severe condition known as juvenile plantar dermatosis. This ongoing skin issue left the soles of my feet sore, swollen, and intensely itchy, with painful cracks forming under even the slightest pressure. The onset was sudden and intense. Despite numerous doctor visits, which included steroid injections and nightly cream applications followed by foot wrappings, relief was minimal. In search of alternative remedies, my parents encouraged me to dip my legs into the freezing South Pacific Ocean—a daunting task during the harsh winter months. After just ten minutes, bundled up like a little snowman, I would eagerly return to the car, anticipating the warm, bitter pūhā juice waiting for me at home. This experience initiated a new family ritual: weekly visits to the sea and regular consumption of boiled pūhā juice as part of our winter wellness strategy. We also decided to remove dairy from our diet, embracing this new, nature-inspired approach to health. This childhood experience ignited a lifelong curiosity about plants and natural remedies. It was an exploration where Indigenous knowledge intertwines with history, folklore, spirituality, and science. Fortunately, my early encounters with natural healing have found validation in scientific research. Take pūhā, or Sonchus kirkii , for instance, which is rich in Vitamin C and other compounds beneficial for wound healing and inflammation reduction. Every mineral in this plant supports skin health. Magnesium provides anti-inflammatory properties and enhances hydration, crucial for resilient skin, particularly those with eczema. Seawater offers calcium, essential for keeping skin moisturized, while salt is a gentle exfoliant, promoting smoother, healthier skin. Nature is abundant with healing elements wisely utilized by our ancestors over time. Modern research affirms this ancient wisdom today, providing insights into better health and revitalized skin. Reflecting on my childhood, when healing felt almost magical, reveals a profound truth: nature offers. As I continue to explore the wisdom of plants, I remain deeply grateful for the young girl who believed in the extraordinary wisdom of Papatūānuku — Mother Nature and the ancestors who shared it. Wild Alchemy Botanicals: the essence of conscious beauty At Wild Alchemy Botanicals, we firmly believe that true beauty originates from a profound connection to nature—a conviction that serves as our guiding principle. Our commitment to crafting premium skincare products is deeply intertwined with a respect for the environment and a passion for harnessing the potent properties of botanicals and bioactive ingredients. In an era dominated by mass production, we present a refreshing alternative: small-batch skincare meticulously created with care and creativity. Each product is thoughtfully formulated and manufactured in limited quantities, ensuring that every jar and bottle contains the highest quality ingredients. This meticulous approach not only preserves the integrity of our formulations but also guarantees that you experience the freshness of our offerings, embodying luxury at its finest. I take pride in sourcing ingredients from New Zealand, and supporting local sustainability efforts while championing environmental stewardship. Choosing Wild Alchemy Botanicals means participating in a conscious living movement—one that values quality over quantity and nurtures the planet. My philosophy extends beyond skincare; it embraces the ethos of slow living, promoting mindful consumption and fostering a deeper connection to the products we utilise. To date my most notable accomplishment has been cultivating a loyal base of repeat customers, from word-of-mouth without relying heavily on advertising or maintaining a substantial social media presence. Whenever possible, we use BioGro NZ Certified and EU Certified organic ingredients that are free from phthalates, fragrances, and microplastics. This reflects our dedication to caring for both you and the environment with kindness. I advocate for cruelty-free beauty, ensuring that no ingredients or products undergo animal testing. At Wild Alchemy Botanicals, our focus remains steadfastly on effective, safe, and ethical practices My aim is to offer the best skincare based on blending powerful botanicals enhanced with bio-active ingredients.
